i drug out the 55 gal uds today and thought i would cook some ribs. by the way my uds is a GASSER. before you judge me take a look at it.

i cut the bottom out of a 55gal and moved it up to the first rib of the drum and re-welded. in the 12" space below i attached a 55,000btu turkey burner,it only heats up the underside of the bottom.

i then use the regular size rib-o-lator that fits down inside the drum. if i remember right i drilled the spit rod holes about 7" down from the top and then…

they tasted unbelievably good. the smoke wasn't overpowering nor was the seasoning. everything was just right for a rib party in my mouth. that rack was gone in 10min. i ate them all myself. i love my rib-o-lator, it never fails me.
Hope everyone is well and survived the Thanksgiving weekend!

I didn't do any cookin', was playing my pity card with my left arm in a sling after having arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff in the shoulder. Been in a funk since the injury and haven't done any low n' slow in over a month. Occasionally firin' up the gasser and grillin' a bit. But today (Wednesday 12/2) was nice and sunny, even if it was cold, I cleaned out the Egg and hooked up the Guru to a 13 lb. Apple…

Apple juice/Maple syrup brined turkey that soaked for 24 hrs, rinsed and air dried in the refer, rubbed with Dizzy Pig "Raging River" then cooked at 325* with apple for smoke for 2.5 hrs. I think I just snapped outta my funk! Videos from the Jacktag:goldbarbq.ning.com,2009-09-26:2457979:Topic:99612009-09-26T13:52:45.000ZThom Emeryhttp://goldbarbq.ning.com/profile/ThomEmery
I am in the process of adding onsite videos to my ning page
The plan is to do Interviews Observations and Awards from the Jack,
posted just seconds after they happen. At this point I plan to use a iPhone
for this.

I know this hasn't gotten any press and its kind of word of mouth, but I signed up for this and got my Food Handlers permit at the same time! Salmon 11 AM, Ribs 1 PM and Brisket 3 PM.
C'mon down and say HI! I know Kevin and Wayne from Shots Fired are there. I stopped by after work the last couple years and it looked like a lot of fun! Wish me luck!
Hi there: What I am looking for is a company that supplies PET bottles for spice rub. I have a bbq spice blend company that I am just starting up and got a lot going. I currently have 8, 16 & 32oz PET bottles. I like them, but it's the price. Always got to get lower. Any hints or places to point me to?
Thanks.
